Here at Leaf Mould we get the best from our plants because we garden Organically. Our plants thrive because our soil is healthy and full of nutrients and micro-organisms.Usually roses bloom around June or even July! So to get such a beautiful bloom in April is amazing to say the least.We love our roses and have about 50 in our Organic gardens. When roses are healthy the stems are full of sap which sadly attracts whitefly etc. We deal with this organically with our Organic Fertilisers.Yes that is right!Our fertilisers have a certain type of Organic Molasses in them plus Organic Neem Oil and these work very effectively against insects. So with our fertilisers you do your spraying against insects at the same time as feeding them. This rose pictured is called "William Morriss",which is a very robust plant and good for borders where it will compete well with other plants.. Now in April is a good time to mulch roses with course leaf mould. Water the rose deeply to persuade the roots to sink deeply into the soil.
